I’ve been compiling a list of my publications over the last 25 years. I didn’t realise that I’d been so productive.
Having brought all those together, I’ve added four books that I wrote and illustrated between 1979 and 1998: A Sketchbook of the Natural History of the Country Round Wakefield, Richard Bell’s Britain, Deep in the Wood and Village Walks in West Yorkshire. All my other publications were as illustrator only or, on two occasions, as writer only.
Hi, do you know where I might be able to get a copy of deep in the wood? It looks just stunning and my boys would love out. Thanks Jacqui
Thank you but, no, sorry Jacqui, it’s been out of print for 30 years and unfortunately it rarely turns up in secondhand bookshops.
I have the same question about Waterton’s Park. I can’t find it on any online booksellers’ websites and Amazon have one at £50 and one at $121!
Meryl
My price: £2.99, post free in the UK! If you could call at Walton Herbs or Darling Reads, Horbury, they usually have it on the shelf.
Thank you so much. I’ll walk to Walton Herbs one afternoon this week. It’s my husband’s birthday next week and he was very proud of himself recently for finding Charles Waterton’s grave after several failed attempts. We love your books so this would be very appropriate as one of his birthday gifts this year.
Good morning Meryl, I’ve just been in touch with Walton Herbs and until June they’ve got limited opening, so just Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but they have put a copy of ‘Waterton’s Park’ to one side for you, if you do call in.
Thank you so much, Richard. I’ll go Friday afternoon. Meryl
