Roman Graffiti

Suburra: Blood on Rome

Lock-up on the Via di San Giovanni in Laterano, a back street behind the Colosseum. It wouldn’t have occurred to me to photograph graffiti in Rome, but Barbara had set herself a bit of a challenge, so photo credit to her for this one (although can I just mention that I did the location-spotting?).
I love those textures and colours and the way the graffiti echoes the shapes of the wrought iron. Would make a great location for the gangsters’ hideout in Netflix’s Suburra: Blood on Rome, which was advertised on a huge billboard at the end of the street.

  1. Great image! Hope you don’t mind me pointing this out but I wondered if you realised that your posts now appear on mobile devices with the text in a giant type size. Don’t know if you’re using a theme that doesn’t automatically optimise for mobile but this started happening about a couple of weeks ago and I find it difficult to read (or rather, not difficult, but alarming). I have to convert it to ‘desktop site’ to see it in its attractive intended form – where it does look lovely!

    1. Thank you for the feedback, that’s useful as I hadn’t tried it out on s mobile. I love the new WordPress editor but I’ll go easy on the large print, and I’ll go back and reformat those opening paragraphs.

      1. Many thanks! I’ve come a cropper occasionally myself in the past by not checking how things look on all devices and getting some unexpected surprises. I love following your blog and would have even put up with the gigantic lettering!

        1. Some day, I’ll have to get myself an iPhone and check it out for myself 🙂 Although I think there is a way of previewing the mobile version in the desktop editor. Thanks again.
